The last two weeks have been extremely busy and has seen me crisscrossing the country clocking up nearly 2,500 miles. It began by the College of Policing appointing me as an associate member allowing me to assist in their countrywide series of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) workshops led by Tim Leeson – CSE Project Manager College of Policing .

I have delivered input to three workshops to Police CSE leads on behalf of the College of Policing in Preston North Yorkshire and Warwickshire. Discussing the use of the human trafficking legislation in relation to CSE investigations.

I also ran four workshops for North Yorkshire Police in Scarbourgh and York in relation to Child Trafficking as part of the prevent strategy within the county and will be delivering two final workshops for them on Friday ( 05.12.14) in Harrogate.

Three days were spent in Manchester with the rest of the NWG Specialist Team as part of the NWG review into their response to CSE.

I also attended the CSE governance meeting at CEOP in London chaired by Superintendent Ian Critchley.

Between travels I have been working with Jane (NWG Administration) on producing a pocket guide for CSE practioners that will be available in the New Year this guide will give advice on legislation, indicators of CSE, disruption techniques and process maps, child protection legislation, and the CSE process.

I facilitated a National Referral Mechanism (NRM) seminar at our offices, which has led to a flurry of CSE referrals from the Metropolitan Police into the United Kingdom Human Trafficking Centre (UKHTC).
