LAUNCH OF A NEW FUND TO PROMOTE YOUNG PEOPLE’S VOICES IN ADDRESSING THE ROOT CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF SEXUAL EXPLOITATION |
| As part of the Samworth Foundation’s commitment to combat issues of sexual exploitation and as part of our learning in this area, we are launching Young Voices: a new fund which calls for organisations who place young people at the centre of their design, decision making and model of delivery to influence and effect change in the prevention of Sexual Exploitation. | ||
| “Every young person has the right to express their views, feelings and wishes in all matters affecting them and to have their views considered and taken seriously.”
Article 12, The UN Convention on the rights of the child |
Building on our current funding strategyand Article 12 of the UNCRC, the Samworth Foundation is now offering a standalone piece of funding for charitable organisations sharing the same commitment to and value of participatory approaches across their work to prevent and respond to Sexual Exploitation. In 2019, we seek to support a small portfolio of 6-8 organisations, over a 3-year timeframe. | |
| We are interested in organisations wishing to initiate new work with strong participatory elements and/or those wishing to sustain and grow existing work.
We seek those who can demonstrate an organisational commitment to this style of approach, where young people play a legitimate role in the design, review and influence practice. |
