#YouAreNotAlone Domestic Abuse Campaign Assets 

In April, the Government launched the #YouAreNotAlone domestic abuse campaign to highlight that if anyone is at risk, or experiencing, domestic abuse, help and support is still available from charities and the police.

As certain cities across the UK are in lockdown, we would like to circulate our Domestic Abuse campaign assets again to support victims, family and friends and perpetrators. We would really appreciate your support in sharing these resources and information with your networks and channels, as well as on your social channels.

• Translated assets are available in Welsh, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Mandarin, Farsi, Arabic, Somali, Polish, Romanian, Spanish, Italian, Tamil, French and English; and
• English assets are also available includes the Domestic Abuse Employer pack.

Violence Reduction Units funding boost  

The Home Office has today published an independent evaluation of the work of Violence Reduction Units (VRUs).

The evaluation comes as the Government has today announced that VRUs will be distributing a further £2.9 million to hundreds of frontline charities working on violence prevention projects. The funding announced today is being directed to smaller charities providing critical frontline services for children and young people, to ensure they can meet increased demand as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as continuing their day-to-day activities.

VRUs bring together different organisations – including the police, local government, health, community leaders and other key partners in local areas – to tackle violent crime by understanding its root causes and driving a co-ordinated response.

COVID-19:  

Test and Trace statistics 

NHS Test and Trace statistics show that contact tracing is working to stop the spread of the virus, by consistently reaching the majority of those testing positive and their contacts. More than 271,000 people have now been reached by the service, preventing them from unknowingly passing the virus on.
Since NHS Test and Trace launched, it has identified 60,065 people who have tested positive, with most people now getting results within 24 hours.

Following on from the government car sharing guidance in last week’s newsletter, car sharing assets and back to school assets can now be found on the Department for Transport extranet.

The Ministry of Justice yesterday published its quarterly statistics on the Criminal Justice System in England and Wales. These can be found on GOV.UK

Men’s Advice Line legal information factsheets 

Men’s Advice Line has created a series of factsheets providing accessible information on legal matters for male victims of domestic abuse. The series of factsheets include information on non-molestation orders, divorce proceedings, keeping contact details confidential in family court and other topics of legal interest.

Men’s Advice Line have also added useful links to Shelter’s website which includes information about housing and homelessness for victims.

The National Lottery Community Fund and Global Fund for Children open Phoenix Fund  

The National Lottery Community Fund and Global Fund for Children have opened the Phoenix Fund for grant applications.

The fund will provide £1 million in emergency grants to micro and small BAME-led organisations in England, to aid the COVID-19 pandemic response.
