THE GOVERNMENT MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT REGISTRY

The Government modern slavery statement registry
 
The Home Office has launched the Government modern slavery statement registry to make modern slavery statements available in one place and make it easier for interested groups to search for statements and scrutinise the action organisations are taking to prevent modern slavery.

Using the registry is an opportunity for organisations to demonstrate the positive steps they have taken to prevent modern slavery in their operations and global supply chains and send a clear message to consumers and shareholders about the value that they place on transparency. Since launching, over 3,500 statements covering over 10,000 organisations have been submitted to the service. In future, it will become mandatory for all organisations in scope of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 to submit their statement to the service, as part of the planned changes to strengthen section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

Single Competent Authority Refreshed Privacy Information Notice
 
We are pleased to announce a refreshed Privacy Information Notice (PIN) for the Single Competent Authority (SCA) has been published on gov.uk, replacing the previous PIN. The new PIN provides clarity on how the SCA processes data as it fulfils its duties to identify and support victims of modern slavery, including how we use and share individuals’ information.

The PIN can be found here and, within the PIN, you’ll find further links to relevant supporting guidance.
 
Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract published
 
The new Modern Slavery Victim Care Contract (MSVCC) went live on 4 January this year,  delivering a service that is needs-based and better aligned to the requirements of adult victims of modern slavery in England and Wales.
