COP26

The 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, also known as COP26, is the 26th United Nations Climate Change conference. It is being held in Glasgow from 31 October to 12 November.

The climate talks bring together heads of state, climate experts and campaigners to agree coordinated action to tackle climate change.

As COP26 Presidency, the UK is committed to working with all countries and joining forces with civil society, companies and people on the frontline of climate change to inspire action ahead of COP26.

COVID-19 Toolkit

As we head into winter the colder weather leads to increased transmission of viruses and following safer behaviours can help to combat COVID-19. The current stakeholder toolkit is attached to this email featuring lots of resources and assets for you to share with your networks.

Windrush Lessons Learned Review progress update: call for evidence

Wendy Williams is undertaking a follow-up assessment of how well the Home Office is responding to recommendations in the Windrush Lessons Learned Review (WLLR). As part of this, she has launched a call for evidence inviting stakeholders and members of the public to share their views on how the Home Office has responded to the conclusions in her review.

The deadline for responses is 21 November. You can respond online, or by sending a written response to [email protected].

Campaign materials 

The Home Office is still running campaigns in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

• #YouAreNotAlone aims to raise awareness and signpost to information and support available for victims, family/friends and perpetrators of domestic abuse.
  • On GOV.UK there is full guidance and easy read guidance on getting help for Domestic Abuse
  • Campaign materials and updated assets, including a partner pack and translated assets, are available to download.
  • The Ask for Ani Codeword Scheme is operating in independent, Boots and Superdrug pharmacies. Posters and social media assets are available to download. For more information, materials or to provide feedback, please email [email protected].
  • The Community Safeguarding Leaflet contains information and guidance for those who are still operating in communities to recognise the signs of abuse or neglect. The guidance covers signs to spot and what to do if there is a concern.

A message from the Suzy Lamplugh Trust

For National Personal Safety Day on 9 November, Suzy Lamplugh Trust is releasing a report titled Driving Out Violence and Aggression on Public Transport.

The report will highlight findings demonstrating the prevalence of violent, aggressive or sexual unwanted behaviours across UK public transport.
