Recruitment Opportunity – Head of Development and Sustainability (maternity leave cover) Abianda

Posted on

Summary of the role
Abianda is an award-winning social enterprise that works with young women and girls affected by gangs and county lines so they can be free from harm and abuse. This work is supported through restricted grant funding and unrestricted income from sales of our highly regarded training programmes.

Our vision is to be self-sufficient and innovative in our income generation, working to be sustainable and commercially viable, with the freedom to pursue social impact as defined by young women.

We are looking for someone with a strong track record in organisational development and generating fundraising targets across a variety of income streams to cover the key responsibilities of a current member of staff going on maternity leave in March.

Ideally, you will have a breadth of expertise across grants and trusts, public sector contracts, corporate partnerships, and individual giving.
Depending on your skills and experiences we would like you to join Abianda’s Senior Management Team and contribute to our cross-organisational and commercial strategy in order to grow our social enterprise.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to leave your mark and include your vision as we work towards our priorities for 2022/23, including scaling up our successful training delivery. This work will be led by the Sales Officer, who you will line-manage. We also hope to innovate new social enterprises to generate unrestricted income, such as; growing our consultancy arm, school programmes and managing a creative space for young women which raises income through bookings from other organisations.

In addition to these innovative income generation activities, which will ensure our long-term sustainability, you will develop and maintain relationships with grant funders who support our vital frontline services and explore corporate support of our work. We are flexible in filling the requirements of this role. If you bring significant fundraising experience but are not ready to step into a senior leadership role, we can discuss the possibility of a middle management position at Abianda (hence the salary range).
We are also open to consultancy support to help meet our 2022-23 income targets. If you would like to discuss a freelance consultancy contract with Abianda instead of a fixed-term contract, please get in touch with [email protected]

● Based in Islington, London (N1), with some working from home.

● Abianda understands the importance of investing in staff and offers many opportunities for training and personal
