The NWG Network are delighted to welcome a new member of staff to our team.

Sukhdev Rathore recently joined the NWG as the Exploitation, Diversity and Inclusion Lead.

Sukhdev is a qualified youth worker and has worked in the youth and community field for a significant number of years. His experience stems from working within both statutory and 3rd sector organisations providing direct and indirect work with vulnerable and exploited children and adults. Previously Sukhdev has worked at Barnardo’s providing support advice and guidance to children and young people, families, communities, and professionals on trafficking of Children and Young People and Child Exploitation amongst other safeguarding issues.

Sukhdev comes to the NWG with experience and knowledge of working with diverse communities and organisations.

In the new role of Exploitation, Diversity and Inclusion Lead Sukhdev is looking actively to work alongside practitioners, strategic leads and policymakers. One of the aims of the project is to develop resources, and training and influence policy to ensure Children and Young People from marginalised communities are not forgotten about when tackling child exploitation.

Sukhdev will be able to provide support and guidance to better engage with children and families from marginalised groups including those from Ethnic communities, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender + and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
