I am pleased to share with you our fourth Impact report 2021/22, which sets out our achievements during the last year and how we are making a positive difference to policing.

Based on your feedback, our Impact Report focuses on case studies about real people and shows the impact we have had on the public and policing. Thank you for your advice, involvement and invaluable support in our work.

Despite the ongoing disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, we continued to perform well. I am pleased that 90% of our core investigations were completed within 12 months, surpassing our target, and over a third of our core investigations were completed within six months.

We are listening and responding to the issues that matter most to the public. Our thematic work in areas such as use of Taser and stop and search, allowed us to identify wider issues across policing and address them though learning recommendations. Our report includes case studies on how our recommendations led to national improvements in policing.

We also share the valuable work we are doing with you, our stakeholders, and the achievements of our Youth Panel. We highlight our commitment to promoting equality and valuing diversity, through initiatives such as our reverse mentoring programme, staff networks, and Aspiring Professionals Programme.
