It is with a great deal of sadness that I announce the passing of a valued colleague, former Detective Superintendent Paul Callum. 

Paul was a former colleague of mine when we worked for the Derbyshire Constabulary.  Paul had a varied and successful career, most notably his leadership and management during his involvement with the Philpott investigation.  Paul was respected by both senior, frontline operational officers and staff alike for his humour and unswerving dedication to policing and those charged with protecting the public day in and day out.

On retirement, Paul worked as a consultant with the NWG providing us with his experience and expertise across our Police and Justice network.  This work was clearly appreciated by the NWG but by none more so than myself as I transitioned from retirement into the Police and Justice role.  Paul made that an easy process and just like the 30 years prior his guidance was invaluable.
