Launch of online forms system

A new online system for forms submitted to the OISC has been launched.

The new system will make it easier to apply for registration. It will also assist registered organisations in applying for continued registration, adding new advisers, changing levels and paying registration fees.

The OISC has relaunched its Adviser Finder and Register, allowing people seeking immigration advice to find registered advisers in their area.

The Adviser Finder is a user-friendly way for people seeking immigration advice to find registered advisers in their area, and the Register exists to ensure the public can check whether an organisation or individual is registered with the OISC.

Increased sentencing powers for magistrates to address prisons crisis.

More victims will get the justice they deserve sooner under plans to give magistrates greater sentencing powers.

The changes, the latest step in the government’s plans to tackle the inherited crisis in our prisons, will allow magistrates to hand-down prison sentences of up to a year. This will help to tackle the record remand population in jails and address the Crown Court backlog, also at a historic high.

Search begins for next generation of cyber security talent.

Young people across the country are being called upon to put their cyber skills to the test in the new UK Cyber Team Competition, offering them the chance to represent the UK on the world stage and kickstart a career in cyber security.

The Competition invites 18- to 25-year-olds with a passion for cyber security to test their skills against challenging cyber exercises designed to push their technical expertise and problem-solving abilities.

Applications are open Wednesday 9 October – Wednesday 20 November 2024.
