Position Overview:

NWG is seeking an experienced and driven Grant Writer & Fundraiser to join our team and support our mission. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant writing, proposal development, and fundraising strategies. They will be crucial in identifying funding opportunities, crafting compelling grant proposals, and cultivating relationships with donors to secure financial support for our programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Grant Writing and Proposal Development:

• Research and identify grant opportunities that align with our charity’s mission and programs.
• Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports to trustees, foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
• Collaborate with program staff to gather relevant programmatic information and outcomes to support grant applications.
• Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, ensuring timely submission of all proposals and follow-up.

2. Fundraising and Donor Relations:

• Together with the Senior Management Team develop and execute fundraising strategies to increase revenue and support for the organisation.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with trust and foundation representatives where relevant.
• Prepare donor communications, including thank-you letters, impact reports, and newsletters.

3. Research and Reporting:

• Conduct research to identify new funding sources, trends, and best practices in grant writing and fundraising.
• Track and report on all grant proposals and submissions, maintaining detailed records of application status and outcomes.
• Monitor grant-funded projects to ensure compliance with funding requirements and provide regular updates to funders as needed.

4. Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with the NWG Senior Management Team and other staff to align funding priorities with organisational goals.
• Assist in preparing reports and presentations for the board and stakeholders regarding fundraising efforts and outcomes.
• Support communications and marketing efforts by providing grant-related content for newsletters, websites, and social media.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, or a related field or Proven experience in grant writing and fundraising, preferably in a nonprofit or charity setting.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Knowledge of funding sources, grant applications, and reporting requirements for nonprofits.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in donor management software and CRM systems is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of modern slavery, trafficking, and the exploitation of children and young people in the UK is an asset.
• Ability to network and build strong relationships with funders.

Salary: £11,356 per annum based on a 12-hour work week.
