We are delighted the work of Hannah Jennings of East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust has been recognised in the British Journal of Nursing for developing the toolkit to aid health and social care in acute hospitals to identify childhood exploitation. At the Health forum it was raised by several attending the meeting of concerns of the low referrals rates from acute services with concerns of exploitation.    We also became aware Hannah had begun work on something to address the issue and we joined forces with Hannah taking the lead, developing the toolkit and piloting it in her own trust with some considerable success.

Evcom Clairon Awards

We’re over the moon that one of our films created by Popla Media is shortlisted for an Evcom Clarion award. The Clarions celebrate cause-driven content and campaigns that make an impact and we’re honoured to be considered alongside such fantastic nominees.

‘Feels Like Yesterday’ is part of a whole bank of resources put together by NWG that help people understand the impact of abuse, and what’s needed to make sport a safe environment for everyone. Alongside this film we made two others – one of which was shortlisted for a Smiley award earlier in the year.

The resources were the culmination of many months of listening to and learning from those who have lived experience of abuse in sport. Over 20 survivors shaped and guided the direction of the resources and Over 40 sports contributed along with the FA Survivor Support and Sport Em Sport England Advisory Panel.

We were privileged to work alongside those with extraordinary individuals with lived experience and the amazing Kelly Hounslow in our team and craft three films that form just a part of this knowledge bank.
