Stop letting people down – if you say you are going to do something do it – Don’t say I fail to engage. YOU have to find ways to help me engage with you.

NWG are pleased to announce the launch of our brand new training, ‘A Legacy of Abuse’.

NWG would like to thank the people who have allowed their experiences to form part of this session.

This session is dedicated to everyone who has ever been impacted by Child Exploitation.

The 2-day face-to-face training is aimed at professionals working directly or indirectly with children who have been victims of abuse by exploitation.

Day one provides attendees with the opportunity to refresh and update their knowledge of current legislation and best practice. The areas covered are CSE, CCE, cross-exploitation, prevention, disruption, safety, recording and reporting. The day ends with a reflection on the importance of self-care and allows attendees to consider their own self-care either individually or as part of a group.

Day two introduces attendees to Bex who has been amazing in her commitment to this training. She has shared and narrated her and other’s experiences with the intention of professionals developing their practice to protect other children from experiencing the harm and abuse that she and her family did. The structure of day two ensures that attendees reflect on the abuse of Bex and others to identify the needs of, and support required by the victim and their family, types of exploitation and consideration of who should identify indicators and how they should respond as well as opportunities for prevention, safety and disruption. The format of the session supports attendees to practice and develop their communication within a multi-agency meeting environment.

Please be aware that this session is designed to be hard-hitting and impactful.
