Exploitation in Sport: As a volunteer what do you need to know?

This short learning session is designed specifically for people working in the sports sector. The majority of local sports opportunities are made possible by volunteers; therefore, this training has been written with them in mind. A basic safeguarding awareness may be useful before attending this session but it is not essential.

The session will provide attendees with an awareness of what exploitation is and the ways that children could be vulnerable to being exploited more generally before considering how exploitation might look in a sports environment.

Attendees will be given an understanding of the signs that they might see which could indicate that a child is being exploited before being given clear advice and guidance about how to respond.

This session will end by sign-posting people who want more information from relevant sources.
