Developing a shared path through complexity: Practice Principles for child exploitation and extra-familial harm

The open access consultation events are an opportunity to directly influence system improvement. Between June and November 2022, TCE is asking you to contribute your insight and expertise to help develop Practice Principles for child exploitation and extra-familial harm.

We were pleased to have had such healthy interest in our four open-access June consultation events. Thank you to those who attended for your engagement, your honest discussion and sharing your expertise.

We’d really like to build on these conversations and hear more from professionals in all types of education, health and policing roles.

Some background information:
From 2019 – March 2022, Tackling Child Exploitation (TCE) Programme worked with over 80 local areas across England to improve strategic responses to child exploitation and extra-familial harm, through Bespoke Support Projects with local areas, action research, communities of practice and learning sets, and specially commissioned resources. We are now building on this work and have been commissioned for a further 12 months to lead the development of a set of practice principles for all professionals working to safeguard and support young people experiencing, or at risk of, child exploitation and extra-familial harm. We will be consulting with professionals in all agencies and organisations, children, young people, parents, carers and community members plus government colleagues as we do this.
