CPS Domestic Abuse Public Consultation Launch

Posted on

A 12-week public consultation on changes to the domestic abuse legal guidance and domestic abuse policy statement has been launched. The consultation period will run from 4th April 2022 until 26th June 2022.

The revised guidance aims to tackle misleading myths and stereotypes head-on, and lists a number of ways victims can appear in a domestic abuse setting to help prosecutors and investigators build the strongest case possible, whilst the policy statement sets out our ambition to secure justice in every possible domestic abuse case.

To mark the launch of the public consultation we have posted a video from Kate Brown, CPS lead for domestic abuse prosecutions on our Twitter and Instagram pages. We’d appreciate any support you can give this post by retweeting or sharing!

There is more information available on the CPS website: https://www.cps.gov.uk/cps/news/there-no-typical-victim-domestic-abuse-cps-says-it-revises-its-legal-guidance-challenge

We would really appreciate your help and support to amplifying the consultation, to help ensure the final versions are informed by as wide a range of views as possible.
