The Newcastle adult social care experience: Safeguarding adults from exploitation in practice
A practice focussed online webinar to inspire best practice in safeguarding adult approaches to tackling exploitation

Newcastle’s safeguarding exploitation adult social workers were awarded Team of the Year in 2017 where the service was described as “a national beacon of best-practice”. This team formed part of the all-age multi-agency exploitation hub. This was the first of its kind when it was established in 2015 by the way it addressed exploitation seamlessly for both children and adults.
As a result of this innovative approach, local awareness of adult exploitation has risen, with the development of multi-agency policy, procedures, and tools for tackling adult exploitation, also including robust transition protocols are in place for young people reaching adulthood.
