Join ListenUp and Missing People for a webinar on Understanding the Experiences of Black Missing Children on November 5th, from 11am to 12pm.  

Who should attend 

This webinar is for professionals who support missing people and their loved ones. These professionals could be from the police, local authority, social care, youth work, health, or education.  

Context 

Black children are disproportionately likely to go missing. They will often stay missing for longer than White children, and the risks they are facing are less likely to be identified by professionals.  

ListenUp and Missing People have carried out research with Black and Black mixed-heritage young people and their families to better understand the reasons for that over-representation, and to explore their experience of the professional response and support. 

The research revealed deeply concerning issues facing children in Black communities, which drive risks of going missing, and deeply impact the support and care provided to children and their families. The research is available here. 

This session, presented by Jahnine Davis from ListenUp and the Research Team at Missing People, will provide an opportunity to explore the findings of this new report, and to discuss how we can improve responses in the future.
