About this event

In July 2022, a Toolkit for Faith Communities was published at the Faith Alliance Summit in Coventry Cathedral. The Toolkit is designed to engage, inspire and equip faith communities to play their part in helping prevent serious youth violence. The Toolkit is now being taken on a ‘Roadshow’ of the West Midlands, involving a series of 8 interactive workshops.

We particularly welcome representatives of faith communities including leaders, youth workers, safeguarding leads, teachers and volunteers. The purpose of the workshops is to unpack the contents of the Toolkit and encourage discussions between faith communities, and between faith representatives and statutory partners, about community safety and in particular how we can work together to prevent violence and exploitation affecting young people.

The evening will begin with sharing food together and networking. We will then engage in a series of discussions around tables, responding to the following key themes:

1. Understanding violence in the community

2. Responding to violence in the community

3. Preventing violence in the community

4. How can we support each other on this journey?

The evening will conclude with offers of additional support, ways to get involved and pledges to take action. Hard copies on the Toolkit are free and will be distributed on the day. You can also access a digital version of the Toolkit on our website (see link below).
