The Hague. Netherlands. (Day 3 NWG Blog)
So today saw us head off to the Ministry of Justice building to take part in a panel of experts meeting to discuss all elements of domestic child trafficking. Around the table were representatives from the USA, Canada, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and the UK.
We were hosted on the 36 floor and the views over Hague City would have been spectacular had the mist not been around, although we could see the view would have been absolutely amazing if it had been a clear bright day!!
Lively debate around perspectives, experiences and perceptions made the interaction with other professional within the field of domestic trafficking very interesting and enlightening.
The day was full with discussion groups around specific statements round young offenders and victims, what should be considered, what should be done and how can we improve responses.
Relationships with other professionals was an added positive from the day that can only benefit us all in the long term.
After a reception at the end of the day we headed back to the hotel to freshen up before going out to dinner with our Canadian and USA colleagues, and Daan, part of the Dutch Rapporteurs team, which was such good fun, filled with laughter and further discussions about the content of the day.
