Navigating Complexity: Practice Principles for Child Exploitation and Extra-Familial Harm.

Posted on

During June and July 22, TCE held online consultation events across England with professionals in all agencies and organisations, as well as with children, young people, parents, carers, and community organisations. We shared our initial ideas on what the Practice Principles might include and sought the expertise of all participants’ views, insights, challenges, and ideas to help shape the draft Practice Principles.

A second round of consultation will occur during October and November, at which TCE Programme will share the draft Principles and early-stage resources to accompany them.  This second consultation period is designed to provide the opportunity for participants to ‘check and challenge’ what the Programme has heard and reflect back to TCE on how useful the Principles and resources will be in strengthening multi-agency responses to child exploitation and extra-familial harm.

We are running online events throughout the Autumn period both for professionals in specific roles (such as education, health, and policing) and regional multi-agency events. During all the events we will:

  • Explain what we’ve learned from the first round of consultation;
  • Share the draft Practice Principles;
  • Provide an opportunity for ‘check and challenge’; and
  • Ask you how the Practice Principles can be most useful to you in your workplace.

Below is a list of consultation events. This will be updated regularly. Please book on to the event that best suits your role (one event booking only per person, please).
