The NWG Network are delighted to welcome a new member of staff to our team.

Karen Laing has taken up the post of Learning and Development Coordinator for NWG. 

Karen has worked directly and indirectly with vulnerable and exploited children and adults for over 20 years in various statutory and voluntary organisations and in both secure and community settings.

Although Karen loved the direct work she realised that she could positively impact the lives of more children by facilitating training for the staff that worked with them. This led to her obtaining a training qualification in adult education.

Karen has since written and delivered numerous training sessions including; Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking, Legislation, the NRM and Disruption; Recognising, Supporting and Advocating for Victims of Exploitation; The Youth Justice System; Restorative Justice; Safeguarding and many more.  

Karen is in the process of reviewing and refreshing the NWG training offer that we currently have and it would be really useful if you could get in touch and let her know any areas or topics that you think would be useful to add to our portfolio.
