Salary: £19,000.00 to £22,000.00 /year

 

Job Summary

You will be responsible for managing 12 cases every 12 weeks, 6 young people in Milton Keynes and 6 young people in Wycombe or Aylesbury.

Your role will include offering 1:1 mentoring sessions to young people at risk of gangs, exploitation, serious youth violence and those already involved with the aim of reducing vulnerability and diverting them away.

You will be required to deliver group work sessions also, one every 6 weeks. The group work will be for up to 6 young people and last 4 weeks, the topics will vary from gang prevention, aspirations and alternatives.

You will liaise with other professionals across the Buckinghamshire area (Milton Keynes and Wycombe or Aylesbury).

You will receive supervision once a month and have direct access to the operation managers, who will support you throughout the duration of your role.

Job Type / Category

Your role will be a 12 month temporary, full time contract, March 2019 to March 2020 with potential for extension (not guaranteed).

You will be required to work a full working week, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours in total.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Experience working with young people is essential, you will need to demonstrate the ability to work well with hard to reach young people.

Local knowledge of the areas will be required, whilst working with gang affiliated youth it is important to understand the dynamic of the locations.

Understanding of Safeguarding, child protection and exploitation is also required, due to the nature of the cases you will handle.

Having the ability to remain professional at all times whilst working with other professionals and young people, whilst being able to build a relationship is key to this role.

You will also be required to write extensive case notes weekly, ensuring all vital information is included.
