Join us at the University of Wolverhampton, Walsall Campus for a day of inspiration and insight into the hidden gems of judo. Arrivals start from 09:30, with the event kicking off at 10:00 sharp.

The day will start with a welcome from Andrew Scoular CEO of BJA, and Phil Smith, Sport England Executive Director of Partnerships.

Our special guest speaker will be announced in coming weeks, their story will bring to life how the secrets of judo have supported them to where they are today.

The day is about sharing lived experiences and demonstrating through tools and case studies how to embed judo into your offering to create stronger people both physically and mentally as well as create stronger communities.

We will offer a session on the unique benefits that judo was designed to deliver, before showcasing practical examples through four sessions:

  1. Judo With Children – Improving behaviour and confidence with the moral code and jita kyoei.
  2. Finding Your Feet – Safer falling through Ukemi and other judo practices.
  3. Adaptive Judo – How judo adapts to the diverse needs of participants.
  4. Judo Activators – An introduction to a pilot project for delivery by non-judo coaches.

There will be opportunities over lunch for a tour of the British Judo Olympic and Paralympic National Training Centre, as well as time to network with fellow attendees, to discuss shared challenges and solutions.

We will close the day with a question and answer panel session, concluding the day at 15:45.

We look forward to seeing you on the 8th!
