As some of you are working with young people who might have an interest in sharing their views on policing, we wanted to let you know about an anonymous online survey for young people, that we are running until 25^th February 2026

The survey is part of a child-centred policing project we are doing for YEF, exploring children and young people’s experiences and views of policing. Findings will be used to create guidance for police, as well as written up in research outputs (including a young person’s summary).

We’re conscious reflecting on police experiences may be difficult for young people, so we’re only sharing the survey via agencies where staff can introduce it to a young person they think it might be appropriate for, rather than in open access forums. More info in the attached, but key points are:

• Its online, but can share paper copy if easier
• It is anonymous
• Open to 25^th February 2026
• For any 13-21 year olds (up to 25 if SEND), irrespective of nature/level of engagement with police
• Young people choose what experiences to tell us about – we explore what happened; what if anything was done well; what needs changed.
• They can pass on anything they don’t want to answer, and obviously we don’t want young people to feel any presssure to take part – only if they want to.
