TACSA Intervention Toolkit Survey

| TACSA Intervention Toolkit Survey Colleagues We need your help! Marie Collins Foundation (MCF) is based in the UK and is leading the way nationally and internationally when it comes to responding when a child is sexually abused through technology. We support the victims of technology-assisted child sexual abuse and exploitation and their families on their recovery journey to go on to live safe lives. We empower professionals who work with young people through training, mentoring, and sharing best practices. We advocate for victims and survivors by sharing our expertise with government and policymakers to improve responses and provide a platform for their voices to inform practice. Using an evidence-informed approach combining research, victim-survivor experience, and professional input our aim is to produce a free specifically designed intervention toolkit that addresses some of the recovery needs of a child harmed by Technology-Assisted Child Sexual Abuse (TACSA). This could be by the child being groomed online, or having intimate images shared without their consent or taken through covert recordings. Whilst some children may be sexually exploited online others could be accessing harmful or extreme pornography. Therefore, being harmed through TACSA is a reality for a significant number of children, and practitioners and wider professionals need to understand how this can impact a child and how best to respond. The toolkit will be accessible, age-relevant (9-12 & 13-16 years old), trauma-focused, and ultimately does no further harm to the child. This resource will be available for any practitioner offering direct work with a child and their family with a focus on supporting them in their recovery; designed to reduce the trauma they are, or have experienced. During the development of this toolkit, we will be consulting with a practitioner-based panel of advisers. The resource will be piloted in several areas in England and independently evaluated. Which will include the feedback from children and their family. We will also be monitoring the longer-term impact of the intervention as part of a further follow-up evaluation and review. Our first step involves you and a short survey. We promise, it won’t take up too much of your time but your contribution will be invaluable to us. All the best, MCF Team Complete our survey here! |
