VAWG Call for Evidence – closes 11.45pm, 26 March

The Government reopened the nationwide Call for Evidence and public survey on tackling violence against women and girls, in response to the tragic developments in the Sarah Everard case and to recognise the widespread sharing of experiences on social media. So far, we have received over 137,000 responses.

We would greatly appreciate your support to amplify this with your networks, to ensure that as many people as possible can share their experiences and suggestions and inform the VAWG strategy.

Protect Duty consultation: closes 2 July 2021

The Protect Duty delivers on a commitment to improve the safety and security of public venues and spaces including sports venues, festivals, pubs, places of worship, schools and universities. We are seeking views from the public on how the government can use legislation to make the public safer at publicly accessible locations.

Stop Abuse Together website

The Government launched the ‘Stop Abuse Together’ campaign website yesterday, which includes guidance and contact information if you’re worried about child sexual abuse.

Ask for ANI codeword scheme

The Government launched the Ask for ANI codeword scheme with independent and Boots pharmacies in January.

We have produced downloadable assets including posters and social media images for you to use. We continue to welcome any feedback about how the scheme has been implemented locally. For more information or materials, please email [email protected].

#YouAreNotAlone and Community Safeguarding campaign materials

The Home Office is still running a number of campaigns in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

• #YouAreNotAlone aims to raise awareness and signpost to information and support available for victims, family/friends and perpetrators of domestic abuse. On GOV.UK there is full guidance and easy read guidance on getting help for Domestic Abuse during the coronavirus pandemic. Campaign materials, including a partner pack, employer pack and translated assets, are available to download.
• The Community Safeguarding Leaflet contains information and guidance for those who are still operating in communities to recognise the signs of abuse or neglect. The guidance covers signs to spot and what to do if there is a concern.

Suzy Lamplugh Trust: Unmasking Stalking Survey – deadline 29 March

Suzy Lamplugh Trust has launched a survey for victims of stalking, which will contribute to a report outlining best practice including safety recommendations for victims. The survey is open to anyone who has previously, or is currently experiencing stalking in the UK, and will close on 29 March.
